Im wondering what ZF-5 most people use and like best. This is what i have found so far as far as ratio's. 87-95 zf5 s42 trans have higher 1st and reverse. 96-97 zf5 s47 trans have lower 1st and reverse. s47 gear ratios.

I went through 2 sets of input shaft bearings in 450,000 miles on my 89 zf behind the 4.9. 1 set in the 94 behind the 7.3 200,000.
